It’s no wonder this is a best seller. 12 neutral shades, with a brush, and an eyeshadow primer for only $50/$60! Yes, this is the NAKED Palette designed by Urban Decay. I decided to tell everyone my opinions, to see if this does really live up to the hype.
First off, let’s start off with the packaging. The packaging is alright. It looks sleek with chocolate velvet and gold foil lettering. Since it is magnetic, it doesn’t stay as tight as it should, so you cannot just let it rattle around in your bag, and since it is velvet, it attracts dust very easily.
Onto the actual product itself. The NAKED Palette has 10 shimmer shades and 2 matte shades, so this isn’t exactly ideal for the matte loving person. It comes with a Good Karma Eyeshadow Brush, which is a better deal, as the older ones used to come with a double sided eyeliner. It also comes with a travel size Eyeshadow Primer Potion, which is good for a person who is new to makeup. The eyeshadow is great quality, no fallout, great pigmentation, and lasts all day. Onto the swatches.
From top to bottom:
Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep Gunmetal
Virgin: A shimmery cream almost white shadow, with a little bit of sheerness. Perfect for inner corner or brow bone.
Sin: A pink toned champagne Shimmer. A great all over the lid colour.
Naked: A matte warm light brown colour. A great brow colour for blondes. A dupe for MAC’s Omega.
Sidecar: A warm bronze/dark caramel colour.
Buck: A matte medium toned brown.
Half Baked: A yellow toned gold.
Smog: A shimmery dark bronze, with a touch of olive undertones.
Darkhorse: A chocolate brown, with a touch of olive undertones.
Toasted: A shimmery dark pink with brown undertones.
Hustle: A dark brown with dark purple undertones.
Creep: A shimmery black. Not the darkest black around, but it gets the job done.
Gunmetal: A dark shimmery grey.
My overall thoughts? I would definitely buy this. It may seem expensive but, when you do the price per shadow ratio it’s a great deal. These are great quality shadows, both matte and shimmers, and little to no fallout. If you would even have to get one thing from Sephora, let it be one of the NAKED palettes!
